(All indoor posts for the ground floor will be placed here please, just use the title of the thread to indicate where you are. We're just getting started so I'm sure we'll all find a good system soon.)
A voice echoed through the rooms, people being woken on beds and couches where they more than likely hadn't been on one before. It was a voice that sounded remarkably like Tim Curry actually. "Guests! Everyone, time to wake up! Come to get breakfast and I'm sure there might be a clue or two I can give you about what's going on. Just follow the sound of my voice~."
There was a quiet laugh, but any who followed the voice actually could, little singsonging leading the way off to the breakfast nook.

Re: Breakfast Nook
By the time the little pillow was presented to her, Isabella was well on her way to being furiously upset. Faint hints of color stained her cheeks as her ire rose which she tried, desperately, to push away. It'd do no one any good if she made a scene. Pale eyes roamed over the remaining venue, taking in each item and making mental notes about them all. They were as beautiful as they were odd, and she couldn't help but imagine the patterns she could concoct just to compliment each and every one.
But that wouldn't do either so she banished her frivolous thoughts and swept a hand over the items, retracting back with the small wreath. As before her, the others, had done she lifted the trinket to her collar and held it lightly against the middle charm.
Active. Control over plant life. Her brows furrowed in confusion as she drew the charm back to look at it more closely. What an odd thing to give someone. Odd or not, it was hers now she supposed and quickly followed suit to clip the bauble into place.
Re: Breakfast Nook
Active, a voice said in his mind, Phasing through inanimate. He jerked the charm away, startled. He didn't like it when things talked in his mind, it wasn't usually a good sign. Pocketing the charm for the moment, he passed the cushion over to the next person.
Re: Breakfast Nook
He just clipped it in place.
Re: Breakfast Nook
Then he remembered to check what it did before putting it on, that would be helpful. Passive, speak animal.
Blinking, he put it on anyway. That would be more useful if there were birds.
Re: Breakfast Nook
Interesting.
"What's it mean, active?" he asked as he clipped it on.
Re: Breakfast Nook
Blinking, he then clipped the charm on and went back to eating. Mmm, food.
Re: Breakfast Nook
Still chuckling softly, he looked at them all. "Any time you find a charm, just touch it to the note charm on your collar, and it will tell you what it does. Passive means they are working all the time as long as you have them on your collar, while active require you to touch them and switch them on. Once they run out, they vanish, and will reappear on your bracelet come sunrise."
Another snap gave the ones who had appeared later their phones.
"There are more charms on the estate. Feel free to explore, but remember, if you feel the collar tingle or burn, you are in a place off limits to you, and you should leave. Or," a dark smile, "the building will remove you itself. And you will not like that."
He nodded at everyone and another snap refilled the food dishes with fresh. "I do hope you enjoy your breakfast. Today shall be a free day for you. Tomorrow starts the quests. I suggest you be prepared for rats."
Looking them over once more, he continued. "I am Marious. If you do need assistance, do not hesitate to ask. Though I may not always answer. Lunch will be in a few hours. Have a nice day, ladies and gentlemen."
Re: Breakfast Nook
But too many things just made no sense at all. Food and items... and people just didn't get whisked around like that, even if someone had figured out matter transmission, it shouldn't be that refined... precise... she felt like her brain had thrown a few drive cores while in mid hyper-jump.
Trying to find something that she could focus on, Ailynn picked up the device that had been place by her and examined it. It looked like a communicator of some type, a very old style and probably limited in function. There was a list of names that scrolled on the small screen, they probably matched the group of people here. She shut the comm and tucked it into a pouch on her belt, then put the charm in a pocket next to it.
Her stomach growled a bit when the smell of the fresh food began to register. Real food, not processed protien and carb rations. Again with a casual display of extreme wealth, giving slaves this sort of luxury. But from some of the things said, they'd be paying dearly for these "gifts". Ailynn took a sup and sniffed warily at the contents. It looked to be some sort of hot herbal infusion... She sipped carefully, eyeing the plate in front of her.
Re: Breakfast Nook
"So... I am mortal once more... that's very inconvenient. Oh Marious, one last inquiry if you please? Does this mean that along with my connection to the Dark, my dreams of the future and my ability to see the past of a man are suppressed or removed as well?" He wouldn't mind loosing the nightmares of a future unpredictable and the pain of dying, but the ability to see a mans past simply by asking the Dark... That had saved him a lot of trouble before, as in the case of one Ashley Riot. If in fact his very life hung in the balance, every tool he had would be appreciated.
Re: Breakfast Nook
He knew he could rely on Kanda, they had shouldered each other's burdens in the past few years. Neither had any real problems with the other save for personality clashes and some arguements. He snagged some pancakes as his mind whirled with thoughts. "Quests?" He ventured cautiously as he nudged food Yuffie's way so she ate. The former exorcist was curious about her, Kanda rarely beconded to anyone. He reminded himself it was okay to call the smaller man Yuu now. Eight years and he still kept forgeting.
Re: Breakfast Nook
The dark haired exorcist clipped the charm into his collar before he peered at their host. He couldn't stop thinking about that one sentence. He couldn't rely on the life rune to heal him if he was near death or to yank him out of it. Yuu flicked his gaze to Allen and wondered how the other would react to possibly not being able to use his cursed eye. He understood what he hadn't about it years ago, thanks to a late night chat one night. "So you're limiting our powers then?"
Re: Breakfast Nook
No way in hell was she leaving until she had her Fuuma back! Sentimental or not, if there was one thing she treasured besides Wutai, that was it. She tucked the phone in her pocket and nibbled on the food nudged at her, flashing a quick smile at Allen.
"For the rats." She repeated brightly, dripping with barely disguised sarcasm. "Ooh, fun."
Re: Breakfast Nook
The creature was still speaking though, and that made him frown, glaring at it. "I won't accept to be toyed with." He had had enough of being a puppet used for entertainment to last him several lifetimes. Never again.

Re: Breakfast Nook
His voice was quiet, just for Cloud. "Hate to say it Spike, but I'm not sure it'll work like that. We'll figure it out."
